Upcoming events!

Our current Learn and Practice sessions on American Waltz and Rumba are progressing nicely-it’s not too late to join us on Wednesday Evenings from 7 to 8 at 48 Huron Street, Albany, NY !2203.

Our next Learn and Practice sessions will begin on Wednesday, February 12th. All sessions begin at 7:00 pm at the Giuliano Dance Studio, located at 48 Huron Drive, Albany. The topics for our next session will be Tango and American Viennese Waltz. The cost for AIDA members is $15, non-members $20. This will be an 8 week session that will end on April 2, 2025.

Then, Beginning on April 16th, we will have a 6 week session on incorporating figures from other dances into Merengue. It promises to be a fun session with opportunities to use what you already know in new situations. Come Join Us!

Workshop Time CHANGES

The times of the workshops with Lenka Pedrinelli have been changed as follows:

Foxtrot 2:10 to 3:40

Tango 3:50 to 5:20

The cost is the same. Pay at the door!

Coming this Sunday, January 26th Lenka Pedrinelli

Albany AIDA is pleased to announce that Lenka Pedrinelli will be in Albany on Sunday, January 26th. Lenka is an open professional ballroom champion and an excellent instructor. Workshops will focus on Foxtrot and Tango. Please go to our events page for further informaiton.

Celebration of Dance

On Saturday, November 23rd Settles Hill Banquet Hall was the site of Albany AIDA’s Celebration of Dance. The event was well attended and everyone enjoyed themselves. Thank you to all of you who attended this event. Our DJ’s Ron Barnard and Paul Giuliano played an awesome selection of music. Joy Barnard managed our raffle, thank you Joy. I would also like to thank all those who helped make this event a success.

Learn and Practice Update

On Wednesday evening, we concluded our Learn and Practice three dance sessions. Attendees learned some basic figures and technique in Salsa, East Coast Swing and Jive. Thank you to Louise Giuliano for the outstanding instruction!

Don't forget: Sock Hop this Saturday, March 23rd

In collaboration with CM School of Fine Arts, Albany NY AIDA is sponsoring a SOCK HOP as a fundraiser to support the scholarship program for students in need. There will be a slow dance and a jitterbug lesson. In addition, you will be entertained by Mark Ciafardo who will be singing some Frank Sinatra Classics. The dance starts at 6:30 and ends at 10:00. CM Fine Arts is located at 17 Executive Park Drive, Clifton Park, NY 12065. Donation $20.

Change of Date: Oscar and Lenka Pedrinelli

Due to unforeseen circumstances, we have had to reschedule our event with Oscar and Lenka. The new date will be Saturday, Aril 6, 2024. The workshop will be held from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm. Since their time here is limited, we are offering one workshop on the basics of International Foxtrot. All levels of dancers are welcome. No partner is necessary. Swing-Jive-Jitterbug

The first Learn and Practice session on Swing-Jive-Jitterbug was held on Wednesday, March 6th at the Giuliano studio. It is not too late to join the fun. The class meets from 7 pm to 8 pm at 48 Huron Street in Albany. The cost for AIDA members is $15, and nonmembers are $20. Each week there is a short review before moving on to new topics.
