Dinner and Dancing at Crystal Cove!!

Cha Cha Class in April

The cha cha class previously rescheduled to April 29th has been cancelled. A second member of the Giuliano household has tested positive for COVID and we want to make sure that we are keeping everyone safe. At this time we are anticipating resuming the regular cha cha class schedule on May 13, but will post any updates here. Thank you for your understanding.

Reminder: Cha Cha Session this Friday, April 8th

Just a quick reminder, the second session of Cha Cha from 0 to 60 will be held this Friday, from 6 to 8 at the New Covenant Presbyterian Church, 916 Western Avenue, Albany. The cost is $15 for members and $20 for nonmembers. The first session was well attended and we received much positive feedback!

Everyone’s schedule is different, but is is not a problem if you need to miss a session. You can catch up when you come back! We look forward to seeing you on Friday!

Celebrating with Albany NY AIDA

On Sunday December 16, 2021 AIDA sponsored an afternoon of dance to celebrate our ability to be with friends and the renewing of dance activities.

On Sunday, December 2, Johnny Martinez and Jennifer Cornell from Tango Fusion led our Learn and Practice in Salsa and Rueda. Thank you to both of them for an enjoyable learning experience. Everyone in attendance had a wonderful time. Thank you also to Joy and Ron Barnard of J & R Dance for donating their studio space for the afternoon’s session. Their support is greatly appreciated.

Our December Learn and Practice will be a party to celebrate being able to get together and dance. We are inviting our instructors for an afternoon of dancing enjoyment. The party will be held at CM Fine Arts in Clifton Park.

DONT' FORGET!

This Sunday, November 28th will be our November Learn and Practice from 1 to 3 pm. Out topics for this month are Salsa and Rueda. Johnny Martinez and Jennifer Cornell will be our instructors. Our venue will be J & R Dance, LLC located at 2580 Brookview Road, Castleton, NY !2033 We hope to see you there As always the cost for members is $10 nonmembers $15. Keep on dancing!

Spooktacular Ballroom Challenge - A Huge Success

Albany NY AIDA would like to thank its members and the participants in our Spooktacular Ballroom Challenge. The weekend was packed with events ranging from medal testing and Proficiency Competitions to fun dances, a question and answer session, and workshops. A huge thank you to Lori Woods-Gay and Michael Choi for traveling to the capital region to be our adjudicators and presenting three wonderful workshops. Thank you to CM FIne Arts in Clifton Park and Dance Fire Studio in Niskayuna for providing our venues. This weekend would not have been possible without all of our volunteers, so thank you to all of you as well. One further acknowledgement is needed, a huge thank you to Sue and Mike Martin for organizing this event and keeping everything running smoothly, We appreciate everyone who helped make this weekend a success.

Learn and Practice

A huge Thank You to Elizabeth and Grey Masko for the October Learn and Practice. Elizabeth and Grey donated both their time and the use of their studio for this event. The lessons were excellent and enjoyed by all who attended. We are fortunate to have the support of so many fine instructors and studios!
